2009 Tremont Pool Information

The Tremont Community Swimming Pool will be opening on May 30th. Tremont Area Park District is now accepting registration for summer pool activities for Tremont residents. The pool will offer pool passes, swim lessons, swim team, group rentals and aqua-fitness classes. Residents can register during a special registration time on April 18 from 9-noon at the park district office, or during regular office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2 and Wednesday evenings from 5-7.

2009 Tremont Pool Programs

Pool Mission:

The Tremont Community Pool’s mission is to offer quality aquatic programs to meet the needs for all ages of our community and the surrounding area.  The health and safety of our participants (including employees) is our top priority!

 Pool Season Dates/Times:     Opens:  May 30 and Closes: August 16

After School Swim Hours:      - 3:15 – 7:00 p.m.

Regular Open Swim Hours:   Monday – Saturday (12-7pm), Sunday (1-7pm)

Special Open Swim Hours:    -June 8 & 9 (Pool closes at 6:30)

-June 12 (12-4pm) Turkey Festival

-June 13 &14 (Closed for Turkey Festival)

-July 4 (12-5pm)

-Pool closes at 4:30pm for all swim meets.

Programs Offered:

  • Open Swim (Monday – Saturday from 12-7, Sunday from 1-7pm)

  • Group Rentals (Mon. – Sun. from 7-8pm, 7-9pm or Sat from 10:30-11:30am (1/2 price daily admission for Saturday Group Rentals)

  • Lap Swimming (Mon &Wed from 6-6:55am, Mon, Tue & Thu from 11-11:50 am)

  • Aqua-Fitness (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 11-11:50 am)

  • Swim Lessons (Monday – Thursday from 9am – 11am)

  • Swim Team (Monday – Friday  from 7-8am & 8-8:55am)

  • 55+ 5 Swim (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 11-11:45am)

Special Events Offered:

  • Community Night Swim (June 22 & July 13 from 7:15-9pm)

  • Boy & Girl Scouts Badges (June 23 & July 21 from 6-7pm)

  • Tremont Triathlon Training (coaching available during lap swim hours)

  • July 4th Games (pool closes at 5pm)

PROGRAMS OFFERED:

 Pool Parties:   Monday – Sunday from 7-8pm, 7-9pm OR Saturday from 10-11:30am

Overview: The pool will be available for any groups wanting to rent the pool. The concession will be available for an additional $10 for each hour.

Lap Swimming: Mon & Wed. from 6-6:55am, Mon-Thur. from 11-11:50 am

Overview: 6 lanes will be offered for lap swimming with a pace clock at 6 am. 3 lanes at 11 am. Cost:  $3.00/day, free with pool pass. Dates:  June 10 until August 14.

Aqua-Fitness:  Monday-Thursday from 11-11:50am

Overview: This class will challenge any age for a total body workout conducted in the shallow end which will have a 5 minute warm-up, 35 minutes of total body work, and 5 minutes of cool down including stretching.

Resident/Non-Resident Cost:  $4.00/$5.00 per class

55 + 5:  Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 11-11:45am

Overview:  Anyone aged 55+ and 5 & under (with a parent) can come swim in the pool.  You will be sharing the pool with Aqua-Fitness and Lap Swimming, but you will have the rest of the pool with half the 3 foot area, zero-depth pool, and half of the deep end and 5 foot area.

Cost:  Free with a Season Pass or $4 for 55+ and $4 for Parent & child (everyone gets into the full day’s swimming as well)                                                                                                    Back to top

 SPECIAL EVENTS OFFERED:

 Community Night:  Monday, June 22nd and Monday, July 13th from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Cost: Pass Patrons are free - all other patrons are $5.  There will be a raffle where it costs $1/ticket for various items that are donated by the community.                                                Back to top

 Boy and Girl Scout Badge:  Tues, June 23rd  (6-7pm) and Tues, July 21st (6-7pm)

Overview:  A chance for and boys and girls to earn their scout swim badge.  A lifeguard will test them on these skills. 

Cost: $6/participant. Only $5/participant if Scout leader leads them through the activities.

 Tremont Triathlon Swim Training:  

Overview:  Want to get some extra coaching during the lap swim hours?  Come join us at the pool for swim help so you can have a successful swim portion of your triathlon. 

Cost:  Free for 5 minute advice and help with workouts!

 July 4th Games:

Oveview:  There will be fun and interactive games during part of the July 4th open swim.

Cost:  Season Pass or Daily Admission
