 2011 Swim Lesson Infomation

4 Sessions for Group Lessons (8 classes per session: Monday-Thursday)

Session 1:  June 6-9      &  June 13-16

Session 2:  June 20-23  &  June 27-30

Session 3:  July 5-8        &  July 11-14 (Tues-Fri for 1st week of session)

Session 4:  July 18-21    &  July 25-28

 

Swim Lesson Class Times Available:  9:30-10am, 10-10:30am, 10:30-11am

Resident/Non-Resident Cost per session: $36/43, Each additional sibling: $30/36

All Levels (except Parent/Tot) are available each ½ hour class! 

Parent/Tot: Available only at 9:30 a.m. Resident/Non-Resident Cost: $20/26

Parent/Tot class is only available from 9:30-10:00 in each session and costs $20 for residents/$26 for non-residents.

Semi-Private & Private Lessons are also available from 9:00-9:30 am and 11-11:30 am.

* Minimum of 4 classes required. Each class is 30 minutes.

If registering for swim lessons within the 7 day window prior to the start of class, there will be a $7 late enrollment fee attached to the program fee.

Parent/Tot (Parents in water with kids up to 4yrs old)

  • Practice level 1 skills like blowing bubbles, front/back float, kicking, etc.
  • Only available at 9:30 a.m.

 Level 1 (age 4-7)

  • -basic water safety rules                                    -Submerge mouth, nose, eyes
  • -front/back float                                                -front/back arm and leg action
  • -retrieve object underwater water                     -exhaling underwater
  • -lifejacket use                                                   -many other fun activities

Level 2 (age 4 and up)

  • -front/back glide                                               -swimming front/back short distances
  • -lifejacket use                                                   -retrieve object at bottom of pool
  • -bobbing in water                                             -many other fun activities

Level 3 (age 4 and up)

  • -front/back glide                                               -front/back crawl
  • -butterfly kick and motion                                 -rotary breathing in horizontal position
  • -treading water                                                 -kneeling and standing dive
  • -retrieve object at bottom of pool                      -many other fun activities

Level 4 (after passing level 4 either move to level 5 or swim team)

  • -front/back crawl for longer distances                -elementary backstroke and sidestroke
  • -breaststroke and butterfly                                -advanced diving
  • -safety skills                                                      -open turns
  • -treading water and survival float                       -many other fun activities

Level 5 (after passing level 5 move to swim team)

  • -distance/technique for front/back crawl            -distance/technique for butterfly/breaststroke
  • -advanced diving                                              -open and flip turns for all strokes
  • -safety skills                                                      -many other fun activities
